Daniel Brennan was born in Rathdrum, County Wicklow on Monday, 30th August 1920.
Daniel Brennan met Bernadette Callanan in Dublin around 1939. They got married in August 1945 following the end of the second World War.
Daniel and Bernadette had twelve children whom they nurtured and brought to adulthood. Daniel was a great believer in education and all of his children received a second level eduction. This was a huge achievement in a time when fees were charged for second level education. Free Secondary education was only introduced in Ireland in 1967 after the first six of the Brennan family had entered or completed Secondary school.
Daniel was on the board of the Secondary School in Parnell Square during the 1970's and when he retired in 1985 he got involved in Adult Education, paying particular attention to Adult Literacy.
Daniel Brennan passed away on Sunday 26th April in Blanchardstown Hospital, Dublin.
